I HAVE used my SAME lock box (same brand) for 15 years at two different locations. (Both in California’s Central Valley- Hot, Wet, Cold 25F-110F environment)
WITH NO PROBLEMS.
This box has ALWAYS been installed where, at night, there is NO light, just shadows.
I ask you to attempt to open a “combination or number” lock at night, no street light, no flashlight, etc.,…HOW FRUSTRATING IS THAT? I KNOW!
I had a combination lock box (made by this same company) for 5 years prior this box….well, I was S.O.L. (outta luck) when there was no light.
This present box works wonderfully (DO NOT GET THE TWO-KEY MODEL–all Keys are not sized the same, especially auto keys).
AND if I lived in a frozen climate (I have), such as Boston, St. Paul, Chicago…I would love this box because I could push the buttons WITH MY gloves/mittens ON MY HANDS and it will unlock. Seaside? It will not rust.
IT IS VERY EASY TO CHANGE THE push-button sequence.
IT IS Great for visual/tactic learners. Just tell them “all four corner buttons”, “top, middle, bottom buttons (both sides OR left OR right side)…Those that love numbers? Numbers are there as well but not in braille.
My lock-box HAS NEVER been hacked. In 20 years, my house has never been broken into despite being located in the lower socio-economic downtown area of California’s State Capital City. And I used this brand of lock-box the entire time. 15 years using this push-button model!
(I’m now sending one to a friend near Seattle, WA….that is what prompted me to write this review)

I have both the finger and thumb guard. I carve using pocket knives, and these have been really helpful. They do take some getting used to, but after I broke mine in the benefits outweighed the different feel. The guards are less about preventing cuts and more about preventing sore digits for me. I choke up on the blade of my knife for more leverage, and the index guard really prevents the soreness I usually have after a few hours. The thumb guard does prevent the little micro-cuts that happen at the end of a cut sometimes, but mainly it just protects from soreness that comes from pulling on cuts toward the thumb. The guards seem designed for hands that are meatier than mine, but they are still pretty comfortable and the elastic keeps them on pretty well. This is a surprisingly high quality product for this low price.
